This page was created to honor the great Freddie Letuli, Father of the Fire Knife Dance.

This is just a few tidbits of Freddie. You can read more about Freddie and how he discovered "Fire Knife" dancing by reading his book "Flaming Sword of Samoa, the Story of the Fire Knife Dance", by Freddie Letuli as told to Patricia Letuli (his beloved wife). This book has awesome pictures and details of the "behind the scenes" of Fire Knife dancing.

It's better to keep the article at his real name, and simply explain in the article that he is known as "Father of the Fire Knife" - which it currently doesn't mention. I created both pages and both are significant. The name "Freddie Letuli" is about the person, but also states that he IS the "Father of the Fire Knife"

The title "Father of the Fire Knife" is symbolic to the "Fire Knife World", Samoans, Fire Knife Dancing, and most of all, to the "Letuli" family/legacy.

So, there is no need to move or change it. That's like asking them to re-write the book. You can't change history and what's already been documented. Also, this avoids anyone else trying to claim the title "Father of the Fire Knife".

I would suggest that you follow Wikipedia:Naming conventions (common names). What would a poster of one of his performances use? Would it say Freddie Letuli, Father of the Fire Knife or would it say Father of the Fire Knife, Freddie Letuli. I personally view it as a nickname. Occasionally, nicknames actually become stage names such as Hulk Hogan. However, this seems to be more of a title or nickname than a stage name. Thus, I continue to support my original nomination. I just want to make sure that he is both ackowledged and recognized as thee "Father of the Fire Knife" and nobody else.

I want to include next to his name "Father of the Fire Knife", because that is what he is known for.... otherwise, why else would we be writing about him... right? Cause if that's the case, I could write about myself. Anyhoo, it's symbolic, traditional, legend, etc.
