Meaning[edit]

How can "random variables" be "non-commutative"? In ordinary usage "random variables" are numerical quantities and there is no naturally asociated "operation" between random varables that is an obvious candidate for being "non-commutative"? Again, it would usually be the operation that is "non-commutative", not the values being operated on, although a "group" (entailing both values and operation) might also be calleed "non-commutative".
