Northern Basque CountryFrench Basque Country – Reasons displayed below. Adding this tag since original poster did not.Cymru123 (talk) 21:32, 28 August 2012 (UTC) A google search gives some 542,000 hits for "Northern Basque Country" and some 765,000 for "French Basque Country". Many of the hits of the former, are mirrors of this same web page as it is now.

I'll move the page accordingly unless anyone opposes consistently Mountolive le déluge 16:13, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Comment: So calling it the "French Basque Country" isn't POV by implying there is or should be something French about it? If you think about it, that doesn't make sense, especially since Pays Basque in French is totally vague and can refer to all or any political subset of the Basque Country itself. Anyway. Northern Basque Country

"French Basque Country" is clearly French POV. Please note that there is no such thing as "Spanish Basque Country", as it is called Southern Basque Country. I propose that it be moved back to Northern Basque Country per WP:NPOV and WP:COMMONNAME, as it was prior to a move that took place in late 2012. Let's not open that can of worms again, we had the debate(s) before. Whether we like it or not, COMMONNAME in English is 'French BC' Akerbeltz (talk) 14:47, 27 February 2014 (UTC)
Much as I could agree with your point, let's give it a rest, the change was discussed and decided by consensus not long ago, and there is a reason for it. Regards Iñaki LL (talk) 18:19, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
