When I was a police officer in Wednesbury in the 1970s the joke was that you could not get a council house in Friar Park unless you had a criminal record.
Friar Park
[edit]I was borne on Friar Park Road, in 1950. I have never heard of Friar Park being in West Bromwich. Letters were always addressed ** Friar Park Road, Wednesbury, Staffs.
