The page needs further extension. Several ideas are as follows:

add pictures that illustrate the main ideas, particularly: the stick and slip areas, the traction distribution for shifting (Cattaneo) and steady rolling (Carter) solutions.
add different contact problems: e.g. transmission belt on a pulley.
add information on contact problems with lubrication.
add information on micro-scale problems. For instance: the detailed structure of a surface layer of a railway wheel: bulk material, smaller grains near the surface, oxide layer, contaminants layer, asperities.
