The sentence "During 1950's Tidemand-Johannessen executed a number of commissions in the USSR." is lacking a reference. This information is not mentioned in the numerous sources on the rather well-researched Norwegian page on this artist. Furthermore, it would be hard to see how this would be consistent with the established fact that he in 1956 was given a prestigious and high profile public decoration assignment (Torshov Kirke) by the then clearly anti-soviet Norwegian Labour party elite.
