Nomination unclarity

[edit]

The statement: "Funeral was also nominated for a Grammy Award in 2005 for Best Alternative Music Album," is unclear. This is because it was nominated in 2005 but it does not make clear that it was for the 2006 grammys. That is unless it was nominated in both 2005 and 2006, because it was definately nominated for a grammy in the awards given out in 2006. A side statement I would like to make is that this album technically does not even qualify for the 2006 grammys because of the fact it was released in September of 2004 making it elegible for the 2005 grammys. However the recording Academy still nominated it for an best alternative album of 2005 in 2005 for an award ceremony held in 2006.

Do you have a source for the Grammy 2006 nom? --217.235.235.220

February 2005

[edit]

The album was released in 2004. The inlay cafd says "Funeral 28 February 2005". Does anyone know what does it mean? If it's a re-release date, then what do the other editions say? --Amir E. Aharoni 13:58, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction

[edit]

I like the fact that the current introduction is more about the album than about its reception. However, this should be done with care to avoid POV. I'm still not happy with it as it is, so please improve! --217.235.235.220

The result of the debate was move to funeral (album). I did not protect it from page moves, since it is only one user, not a high-profile page and has only been moved twice. I suppose it could be protected if it is moved again, but I suggest blocking the user for a week instead. Also, if it is moved again, just explain and request a speedy move on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard. -- Kjkolb 08:33, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Funeral (Arcade Fire)Funeral (album) – DAB page was created again (second time in two weeks by same person) for a non-notable musician. Should probably be speedy moved. Crumbsucker 15:16, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Song Title Correction

[edit]

I request the song title "Haiti" be changed to "Haïti" which is what I believe to be the correct spelling, as seen in the booklet and lyrics to the song. Thank You. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 72.130.71.239 (talk) 18:41, 10 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:ArcadeFireFuneralCover.jpg

[edit]

Image:ArcadeFireFuneralCover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 19:40, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Explanation of vague information in Chuck quote

[edit]

I wrote in the popular culture section that the album runs for "approximately 48 minutes". I realize that more specific information is available. In the album info box, the length of Funeral is given as 48:12; I have no reason to doubt that this is true, at least for the official CD release. The downloadable version of the album from eMusic, though, lists the total length of the album as 47:56. In either case, Chuck is incorrect by about six minutes. 68.63.63.122 02:09, 2 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
