Fox Press Release Accuracy

[edit]

So what do we do if we're pretty sure that the Fox press release for this episode isn't accurate, and that they forgot to update the list of guest stars for "Funeral", leaving the ones from "Prom Queen" in place? My choice was to include them anyway, because they were official, and from the source that should know. Another editor has just made a different choice, and removed all the guest stars but Jonathan Groff.

The preview for "Funeral" that ran after "Prom Queen" shows at least one guest star not on the list: I recognized Kent Avenido (who played Howard Bamboo,Terri's coworker at the linens store in season one) in a scene with Terri, and I'm pretty sure I could count up various glee clubbers by reviewing the preview as posted on YouTube. But a YouTube copy from a non-Fox source is not, as I understand matters, an authoritative source... BlueMoonset (talk) 15:16, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I came here to see if this was discussed. I think it's safe to say that guest star list in the press release is completely inaccurate this time around. I'd suggest only including people who are also mentioned in other sources outside the list, like Jonathan Groff. I'm not sure who else would qualify. Maybe anyone credited on the promotional stills for the episode? I'd be hesitant to base it off those you can see in the promo, since that seems a little too WP:OR to me. --Siradia (talk) 18:55, 14 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Interesting point. However, I don't know why a video by the network showing scenes from the show would be ineligible, if you can link to it (e.g., Only Two Episodes Left on the Fox Glee videos—full episodes and clips pages). It's primary source material. Of course, that preview only shows Jonathan Groff and Kent Avenido; it doesn't even show Harry, Chord, or Ashley, and I find it hard to believe that their names, at least, aren't on the list correctly. Darren's more of a stretch; however, I have seen some previews with Lauren in them, so I'd be inclined to leave her on the list, too. I doubt we'll be seeing Charlotte Ross, and Josh Sussman could be either way. (I'd imagine Iqbal would be there, if a McKinley death is involved.) Of course, imagination isn't valid for Wikipedia... Yeah, it just seems a little off to me, just because it's visual, not named, and doesn't necessarily mean they'll be credited, I guess. I could be swayed differently, I just said it seemed a little iffy. I know I've seen Kent Avenido and Lauren Potter credited in the promo stills for the episode. I'm currently failing to find a legitimate page for the latter, but the former is on the fox page: [1] I agree on your assessments of who from that list is generally likely and not likely to appear, but I'm also trying to figure out a legitimate way to handle it. I think we have strong reason for Groff and Kent Avenido, reasonable reason (though not well sourced from my recent searching attempts) for Lauren Potter, and part of me just wants to say "well, duh" on Harry, Chord, and Ashley. And then kick everyone else off of the list for now. --Siradia (talk) 15:47, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I went ahead and made the edit based on my sketchy logic. We'll know more in a couple days, at least. It just seems better to not list people we can't be fairly certain about. I'd rather under-include than over-include. --Siradia (talk) 16:51, 15 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Fox now has a preview up that shows the entire New Directions crew in the classroom, so we can confirm Harry, Chord, and Ashley. And in a little more than 18 hours, the credits will be running... BlueMoonset (talk) 05:53, 17 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Flower Finn Is Holding

[edit]

The page says pink and white rose, but it doesn't look anything like a rose. I think it's probably an orchid or tulip of some kind. Any help identifying it? DianeKurohyou (talk) 02:47, 18 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
