Earl Spencer Eulogy

Why isn't Earl Spencer's eulogy mentioned in the article? That was one of the most memorable scenes of the entire week, muchless the ceremony. 64.132.218.4 (talk) 20:30, 13 May 2011 (UTC)

I agree, Earl Spencer's eulogy was one of the most memorable events connected with Diana's death. Even though the event occurred over sixteen years ago, I'm sure a reliable source can be found for it somewhere on the Internet. --TommyBoy (talk) 00:36, 14 November 2013 (UTC)

Main photo

Why is the primary photo in black and white? The funeral was in 1997, not 1957. --35.16.80.50 (talk) 13:07, 14 September 2012 (UTC)

Surely Spencer's reason for wanting burial at Althrop rather than the church was so he could charge people for access? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.97.97.135 (talk) 17:37, 31 July 2017 (UTC)

Reenactment

On the 21st anniversary of Diana's burial, The White Hotel in Salford, Manchester, commissioned a word-for-word recreation of Diana's funeral by artist Stanley Schtinter, with a Mexican mariachi band. [1] The event became a tabloid media sensation, with a Daily Mail paparazzi (who attended and photographed the event) calling it 'sick and disgraceful'. Vice quoted Candice Davies as saying that Diana would "probably just be happy The People’s Princess got the people’s funeral" [2] whilst London Review of Books noted that The Funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales "may not have been the spectacle of manipulative hypocrisy that the first one was, but it wasn't straightforwardly and cynically satirical, either."[3]

WHY? I believe this entry has been removed and the page security tightened because the original entry was subject to abuse (which I removed myself). This event was an important tribute to Diana - I was there - which has been completely misrepresented by the tabloid media. Please check the links to reputable outlets London Review of Books and Vice, and also refer to the lead arts review The Guardian in print and online gave it on Thursday September 14.
