Not the longest running anthology

[edit]

Although Furrlough's run is indeed impressive, it is definitely NOT the longest-running anthology comic in print (as the article currently claims). The Dandy has been running for 70 years, and even if we don't count children's comics there's AD 2000, Heavy Metal, among others. Andrew Lenahan - Starblind 18:09, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've cut these claims, people can just look at the dates. —Preceding unsigned comment added by GreenReaper (talkcontribs) 05:30, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hundreds of contributors?

[edit]

How many contributors per issue? I assume they don't get 2 or 3 new people for every single individual issue. Even 100 contributors would sound a bit suspicious. Normally you don't change your staff too often. Dream Focus 21:18, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's not a matter of staff so much as regular or occasional contributors under contract. Think The New Yorker, which reviews and publishes submitted articles by a multitude of contributors. GreenReaper (talk) 03:27, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I happened to count all the contributors listed on each issue using the listings on the Radio Comix online store. Even with many early issues missing from the store and only counting each contributor once, I came up with 229 different contibutors for what is visible. Each issue generally has at least 3 contributors, most have at least 5 contributors and some issues have as many as 8 to 10 contributors. 67.10.172.214 (talk) 14:32, 10 March 2010 (UTC)Elin Winkler 08:32, 10 March 2010[reply]
