I disagree with the last sentence of this article. ("In 2005 Fylde became the first college to be located on two separate sites, and offered on-suite residences in Alexandra Park, at the south west of the campus.") Many colleges were split across campus in 2004/2005 due to the building work. Pendle is also split, with studio apartments in Alexandra Park, as well as its main area AND the George Fox building. Re "dubbing his pet toad 'Archduke Albert of Lancaster'"; first it was clearly described in the press at the time as a giant Malaysian toad; second, what support do you have that it was called "Albert"? I recall no name being used and neither does my wife who was JCR Secretary at the time. At the County College opening, the crowd yelled "Long live the Archduke" when the Queen got out of her car. split college[edit]

I agree, the college although split in 2004-05 with Students on SW campus and in the currently named County South (formerly Lonsdale), it was not the the first to be split. Pendle have been split since well before I arrived in 2002.

Influence on university student union[edit]

The recent addition "bringing to fruition 2005 President Tim Perkins' arrogant hustings vow that as a result of his presidency Fylde would 'dominate University politics for the next decade'" definitely needs a source and it is more than likely that no reliable source exists. I have therefore removed it. It is pure original research. The rest of that addition also needs a source, but it is probably sourceable so I have added a "citation needed" tag. --Bduke (Discussion) 22:49, 7 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
