I would like to replace the first two sentences with the following text:

Gaggle.Net, Inc. is a privately held American company based in Dallas, Texas and was originally founded in Bloomington, Illinois in 1998.[1] Gaggle leverages machine learning technology and a team of trained content reviewers to flag concerning content found in students’ school-issued accounts and devices.[2] It attempts to ensure a student’s well-being by informing administrators of any incidents that show signs of cyberbullying, self-harm, threats or any inappropriate behavior.[3] Gaggle claims to have helped save 1,562 student lives across 1,500 school districts in the 2021-22 school year.[4]

While some criticize Gaggle for the over-surveillance of students and alleged breaches of consent and privacy[5][6][7], others consider Gaggle "... to be invaluable in helping the [school] district work with families through numerous crisis situations.”[8]

I'm afraid the last source is not reliable as it has a possible conflict of interest. At the end of the article, it says, Are you a business interested in reaching our large, local audience? Contact Ferris: jmeredith[at]tapinto.net This suggests that the article could have been published in return of payments. Because of that, I would remove the part others consider Gaggle "... to be invaluable in helping the [school] district work with families through numerous crisis situations.” 0xDeadbeef 06:08, 4 October 2022 (UTC)

Thank you for pointing that out - could I instead change the last sentence to this:

"While some criticize Gaggle for the over-surveillance of students and alleged breaches of consent and privacy[5][6][7], others say, "It [Gaggle] allows schools to be very timely in their response and possibly save lives and prevent something tragic from happening.”[8]

First of all, there are no "others" if there is only one source. Only one person said the quoted text. Second of all, I think we should strike a balance between what most sources say and what some sources say. If most sources suggest that Gaggle is a surveillance software that can be ineffective, then we should note that, and if individual reliable sources disagree on this, we can quote the individual sources specifically and note where the quote is coming from. 0xDeadbeef→∞ 02:55, 8 October 2022 (UTC)
