Comment

[edit]

Note that the pictures of the penguins here are all of juvenile penguins. The text gives a correct description of adults, but it (of course) doesn't describe these birds, since they are juvs. DWiedenfeld 00:28, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removed unreferenced mention of "Shadeed Penguins". Didn't look right, and a Google turned up nothing. If I'm ignorant and they're real, sorry.

Verification and improvement

[edit]

Much of the information in this article is not verified by reliable sources, or any sources at all. Here are the sources I have been able to find, both for verification of existing information present on the article and for new information I will be adding. Most info is going into the "Breeding," "Predators and threats," and the Lead sections. The lead is underdeveloped, so I have made sure to add in any information that was not yet present in order to introduce the topic of the article fully (I included parts about breeding, behavior, description, and predation). I have also made minor citation edits under the "Description" heading as there were no citations at all. For Breeding, I have kept in mostly what was already there but added citations to verify the info. I did not delete any preexisting text, however I did move around some sentences to make it flow a bit better. I've also added in new information specifically on courtship behavior, safety regarding the environment, and molting to make the section more comprehensive. I have done roughly the same thing for the Predators and threats subsection, adding citations to unverified info and adding new info with citations specifically about the El Niño impacts and listing more predators. I also could not find any source about the Charles Darwin Research Station, so I deleted that. --Sophiaschoen (talk) 00:37, 12 November 2020 (UTC)Sophiaschoen[reply]

Duplicated reference

[edit]

Hello, I just realized that I had used a reference on this page that had already been used earlier and now it is listed twice. The reference is from BirdLife International (2020) about The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. I tried to switch the new reference to match the previously listed one but when I clicked "Re-use" I couldn't find the other one on the list anymore. To be honest, I'm not quite sure how to fix this and would appreciate some help. The Lucky Diver (talk) 12:53, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
