Hey I was curious if anyone knew about anything Rodden, Illinois. You can search it on mapquest... I know there is a Rodden Road outside of Galena. I've also come across some genealogical information on people being born from or dieing in "Rodden, Illinois". I also read that there used to be a train station or something in Rodden, but beyond this stuff I have no clue.
If it merits it, I think it would be great to have an article on Wikipedia about it. But first I need info. If someone could leave a message on my talk page or e-mail me I would really appreciate it! Thanks! Chupper 15:04, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
New York Times mention
[edit]An IP user added a new section talking about a mention of Galena in the NY Times. This may be a good reference for this article & perhaps a source for new information - I'm not sure it having its own section is appropriate. I'm copying the text below. Chupper (talk) 15:10, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
- The New York Times
The December 7th issue of The New York Times featued an article about Gelana, discussing its history, its rich landscape and increasing interest from city dwellers in its vibrant real estate market.
Inappropriate hawking of football team
[edit]Someone appears to have inserted a disproportionately large paragraph on the GHS football team into the education section, which would be more appropriately placed under that high school's own article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tildemanana (talk • contribs) 04:24, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
- I moved it to Galena High School (Illinois), where it is still disproportionately large. --Closeapple (talk) 05:07, 7 November 2008 (UTC)

Number of generals
[edit]Having just traveled through and visited Galena, I noted that the explanatory signs within the Grant house said that there were eleven other generals that came from Galena, not eight as asserted in this article. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 18:52, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
- Never mind. I was wrong. Nine Generals per Galena history organization. 7&6=thirteen (☎) 19:31, 19 December 2016 (UTC)
