Notability and promotional tags

[edit]

Hi Factfox. The reason for adding the Notability tag is that it is not clear whether the company's products are unique or in some other way notable. For example, are other companies also using hyperspectral cameras for farming? Or is Gamaya's approach unique in some way?

Regarding the Promotional tag, although the language is nicely restrained (good work there, sir/madam), most of the information traces back to the company. To ensure a balanced approach, it would be helpful if some analysis by independent experts could be added.

Hope this helps. Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 07:45, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi 1292simon, Thanks for the feedback, and I appreciate that you have read quite thoroughly through the sources. I've done a bit of research and found these sources which appear to be independent:

I think they go some way in providing some independent analysis of the company and its technology. Hyperspectral cameras and their use for farming is a fairly new domain and the technology is not widely available, so I think it will be difficult to find much more detailed studies. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks, Factfox (talk) 17:15, 31 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Factfox. It's great to see that you've found some more independent references, they would be a useful addition to the article. Another editor's revision shows that they think the notability and promotional tags are not necessary, so I will leave it like that. Cheers, 1292simon (talk) 08:16, 1 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi 1292simon, thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you pushed me to search and find these references as I think they will help make a better sourced article. I'll get to it over the weekend. Cheers, Factfox (talk) 21:59, 1 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Gamaya (Swiss company)Gamaya – When I initially created the article, I saw that Gamaya was a redirect to the NSS College of Engineering, so I assumed that it was another name for the college. However, I later on realized that the article on this college does not make any reference to Gamaya, so there was no obvious relationship between the two. A Google search for: "gamaya" "NSS college of engineering", reveals that it is a "technical fest". There are very few search search results, and none of them point to a reliable source. I therefore think that this is an abusive use of a redirect, as it is not recognizable as the name of the college, and it is neither natural, nor precise or consistent. On the other end, the Swiss company Gamaya is notable, as attested by sources used in this article as well as by a simple Google search for the term, and "Gamaya" would be a more concise name.
