high protein diet - vegetables

[edit]

The sentance makes no sense, a high protein diet would not consist of vegetables.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.192.100.188 (talk) 10:45, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The following comments about the "keep" contain factual inaccuracies. There are absolutely no rules regarding the keep. The feeding and exercise is entirely up to the individual undertaking the endeavor and are by no means standardized. In fact, they are generally closely held secrets. While manual exercise is typical, it is to promote strength and endurance and not a "fighting strategy". The last sentence, "The real test is in the cockfighting event in the cockpit." while true is not specifically about the "keep". The "keep" is by no means the only factor in determining winning or losing. Justjim1 (talk) 12:41, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Gamefowl Keep

[edit]

The selected stag or cock shall be subjected to the rules or processes of the keep. The fowl is dewormed, deloused or given a insectiside dip or bath. The fowl is fed with high protein and medicated ration. The typical ration includes assorted and mixed grains blended with high protein rationed engineered to burn fat and prepare the fowl physically for the fight. Some include fruits and vegetables. The selected stag or cock will undergo exercises to enhance the fighting strategy. The real test is in the cockfighting event in the cockpit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.204.240.25 (talk) 13:03, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Neutrality and article existing at all

[edit]

this article is very factual and not even close to apologizing.facts are not apologistic.Kdmeany sounds more like an animal rights activist or supporter that believes lies spread by animal rights activists in order to eradicate gamecocks.Refer to historical documented references and actual breeders ,,,not agenda driven activists.

The article reads like a cockfighting apologist and should be rewritten in neutral point of view. That being said, most of the useful and unique information in the article could be easily merged into the cockfighting article under its own heading.
