Hi all. Article is started ... I think it would be interesting if we found the winners for each year and put them in a table. Monkeyman 01:36, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I've fleshed out this article quite a bit. Not sure if someone's going to come along and decide it doesn't meet notability requirements, but I tried to make the referencing clear at least.

As far as the table goes, the way Games handles categories and years doesn't lend itself well to using a table. I used an approach similar to what I've seen other awards pages use. --Foggy Brume (talk) 23:55, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

1993 award for Civilization

[edit]

Lacking the actual issue corresponding to this award I'm not 100% sure which version of the game was awarded. The date is rather mysterious as no version of Civilization that I know of was released in 1992, 1993, or 1994, but presumably we can ignore everything 1995 and beyond. This leaves us with a few options. The game could be:

Of these three I think it is most likely that the award was for one of the 1991 games because they are closer to the date of the award, and of those two, I think it's more likely that Civilization (video game) is the award winner since its name is a better match. All of this is just speculation, though, and needs to be verified by a proper source (namely the actual magazine issue). -Thibbs (talk) 15:56, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think this url may resolve the question. Apparently in 1993 there were a number of nominees (including the 1981-era Axis and Allies) that were not from that year. Furthermore, the 1980 board game was definitely at least a nominee in 1993 according to that link (boardgamegeek). So given this info I'll relink that title to the article on the 1980 board game. A proper ref is still needed here. -Thibbs (talk) 12:00, 28 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
