Are we really that concerned about our garbage that we won't allow the less fortunate profit from it? I would not have a problem with someone going through my recycle bin on trash day when it is on the public street and doing what I see them doing to public trash cans. I have never witnessed one of these persons making a mess from the unwanted items and I think anyone having an issue with them profiting should try living in their shoes.

Merger proposal[edit]

I propose merging Garbage theft into Dumpster diving. The Garbage Theft article is a stub and already identifies itself as a (semi-)synonym of Dumpster diving.
