Merge?

[edit]

It is related to garcinia but I'm new to this. how would the article and information on the specific fruit remain intact? There are many rheedia fruits but few of this quality but the taxonomy on the fruit is not worked out yet so everyone in exotic fruit circles refers to it as rheedia spp.

If it's a synonym in that it's a subcategory of Garcinia (as opposed to an alternate name), then that seems like a valid argument for retaining it as a separate article. I suspect that Rheedia would be the more appropriate location for the article, but I'm not an expert. I work on rodents, I just caught this in the list of new articles. I'll drop the merge note. --Aranae 02:16, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Association with botanical name

[edit]

Lemon Drop Mangosteen is *NOT* Garcinia madruno but Garcinia intermedia.
