Hi, I've moved this section below to the talk page as it is not reliably sourced. YouTube comments are not a reliable source so commentary from a reliable source such as a newspaper, magazine or reliable website is needed for it to be readded to the article. Do you think you could help out in helping me find a reliable source? I am determined to expose these games the true frauds that they are. The whole world needs to know. I want them to know even more because I seen a youtube video where someone exposes the games with their false adverts, and even received a complaint from one, claiming it damages their reputation, and is threatening them with legal action. Luckily, the person who uploaded the videos refused. This is why I think it's now important to expose them more than ever. Have found a lot of hits but not a reliable source yet, unfortunately forums are not permitted. In the UK the Advertising Standards Authority is the Ad watchdog, not sure about the US, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 18:25, 22 May 2019 (UTC)

I had a look at the Advertising Standards Authority website, with the amount of false adverts everywhere, I think I could be there all day due to them asking for the title of the offending games. It's ridiculous how many false adverts there are and why they are not being sued for it. Surely there must be a quicker way to report them all.--Brainiac Adam (talk) 08:48, 25 May 2019 (UTC)

False Advertising

From 2018 to 2019, Gardenscapes, including many other mobile app games had created adverts where the gameplay is untrue to the game. They would include titles such as "Why is this game so hard?" or "Save your garden/mansion" and the advert would show gameplay where the area is in a mess and the player must choose certain items for certain problems. The player is shown to be incompetent by choosing inappropriate items for certain problems, such as adding gasoline to a fire. This has caused a lot of frustration to players, as the gameplay is false to the actual game.

Gardenscapes Series

Although it seems a tad obscure, Gardenscapes is a series dating all the way back to 2010. In fact, it has a 'sequel' - Gardenscapes 2 - that released in 2013. I haven't been able to find many sources, but they certainly exist and are still regularly sold on Amazon.

I will be changing the article significantly to reflect this. If you can spare the time, sources are appreciated. Game Is (assumedly) Wikipedian (tea?) 03:02, 12 July 2020 (UTC)

Available on PCs

Gardenscapes is actually available on the Microsoft Store for download. You can get it via this link: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/gardenscapes/9MT9T93G2CNT. It is updated like the ones on iOS and Android. In addition, your progress is synced via Facebook. The only thing is that it can only run on PCs. Apparently, it was available for Windows Phones as well (I did not find a true source for this) but then, Windows Phones were abandoned. The link I provided is the one that can work on Windows 10 devices. There is a link to another version of Gardenscapes which requires the installation of the Amazon App Store on Windows 11 before it can be accessed. It is this one: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/gardenscapes/XP8K1WKD2XRKTF. Also, if users have the Google Play Games beta service installed on their PCs, they can run the Play Store version of the game directly on their PCs. So, there are 3 ways in which this game can be played on PCs.

I know a lot of people tend not to mention these kinds of games being available for Windows devices as they can only run on PCs at this point (as Windows phones are a thing of the past and little is mentioned about the Hololens) and the games themselves are closely associated with phones. 108.21.200.89 (talk) 19:06, 22 November 2023 (UTC)

Update: If there are any plans to include in the article that the game is available for PCs, it should be noted that the link that requires installation of the Amazon App Store on Windows 11 is no longer functional as Microsoft discontinued the Android Subsurface feature on Windows 11.
