According to the introduction to Serviss' novel, Edison's Conquest of Mars, A Columbus of Space was first written in 1909, not 1894, as stated in the article. I added the introduction (available at Gutenberg) as a reference, and corrected the bibliography section of the main article. Dan Quigley (talk) 06:29, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The lede characterisation of Serviss as an astronomer seems inaccurate as no mention is made of any scientific work or publication on his part.
