From Smur

"The Maxwells of Baillieston and Garrowhill House" - That statement really reveals a lack of detailed knowledge.

From Smur

The contributor does not seem to be aware of the boundaries of historical lands of Baillieston and doesn't seem to be aware that there wasn't a census taken in 2004. However there was one taken in 2001.

From the MA

You cannot beat a good old bit of modesty. Anyway it's all Greek to me. Smur ( whatever that means ) you can edit it to your hearts content, but lets get one point straight you aint exactly spot-on either.

From Smur

The 'modesty' comes from knowledge my friend and you should get the point straight because I know what I'm talking about, I've done the research, the hard work. Unlike others I do not make it up. And if you don't know the name, you don't know anything old son.

Roman fort[edit]

Can the contributor give the exact location of the Roman fort in Garrowhill, I would like to take my grandkids around to see it. Has it been heritage listed by the National trust ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Boratt (talkcontribs) 11:39, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am wondering why this 'secret knowledge' has never been revealed to anyone in the past, can the contributor please explain how you are spot-on ? thanking you in anticipation.

Brington (talk) 03:57, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah Mr. Robert Smur Brington Boratt, good to see you are on the case, someone has to keep us all right I suppose eh?

And you are a modest knowledgeable person are you Robert??? HAW! HAW! HAW! You are about the most self opinionated person I know on the planet.

Listen Robert old son, you do not have to see the answer to realise that 1 + 1 = 2. Oh and by the way, you should go easy on the sauce pal it seems to make you think you are intelligent!

I suggest you use all that spare time you have to watch programmes like "The Time Team" instead of those old dubious bits of paper you keep finding; believe it or not these people actually are more knowledgeable than you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Oldbaillieboy (talkcontribs) 23:27, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The term - "Oot yer nut" springs to mind Hammy. Facts are facts, you make everything up in your head and can prove nothing at all. As the above contributor asks, can you advise the location of the Roman fort? Visit Scotland would be really interested I'm sure. Think of all the tourists swarming over Garrahill Park looking for your watchtower.[edit]

I am disappointed now, I was going to take the weans to see the Fort. I'll just have to take them to Easterhoose Fort. --Brington (talk) 11:51, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Meanings.[edit]

HAW.

n. An utterance used by a speaker who is fumbling for words.

Garrowhill of today[edit]

I am an ex-Garrowhill resident, I lived there for 22 years until moving to foreign soils. I visited the old suburb recently and was very, very disappointed in what I saw. The roads need serious attention, as do the pavements, the walls fronting the gardens are in a pitiful state in many of the streets. The whole place seemed shabby and in need of a major makeover. All the extensions to the houses do not make the place look anymore attractive, they just seem to have been stuck on the side with no consideration of the building they are attached to.

Very shabby indeed.[edit]
