Single status

[edit]

I’m conflicted about the Taylor Swift Remix and if it should be listed as a single or a promo single, so I decided to make it public. The song was sent to The Music Network (Australia) as a single, but we've already determined that a sole release to TMN doesn't constitute single status (so it was listed as a promo single). However, the Official Charts Company (based in the UK and very reliable), included it on a "Singles" list. I don’t know if this means it was sent to radio, but it was referred to as a single. As well, People also called the song a single. So: should the Remix be listed as a single or a promo single? And Mediafanatic17 as the ping didn't go through the first time. D🐶ggy54321 (let's chat!) 16:30, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Unless you can find anything calling it a promo/buzz single, I'd say just go with single per the links to Official Charts Company (which definitely is more credible than The Music Network) and People. SNUGGUMS (talk / edits) 16:33, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn't take the OCC's new releases by itself as warranting a single tag; I've definitely seen promo singles be listed there before. But, NME and Billboard (and People) refer to it as a single.. so with these on top of the Aussie radio release, I'd say its safe to put it as a single. Also to note, HAIM's recent social media posts are mainly Gasoline-related! - Peterpie123rww (talk) 16:43, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Definitely a single as per SNUGGUMS and Peterpie. BawinV (talk) 16:59, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
As the person responsible for creating more than 150+ articles on the Hebrew Wikipedia about Taylor Swift, I researched the subject and found it appropriate to consider the song a single. Hello513 (talk) 18:37, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Single per Billboard, OCC, and Australian radio release. I don't know why People would ever be used to determine whether a song is a single. Can we stop citing non-music sources for specific details like this, please? Heartfox (talk) 20:47, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Definitely a single, per above. Sidenote, I think we should re-evaluate TMN as a source for single releases because the discussion was unreasonable in my opinion. Sean Stephens (talk) 21:37, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Great, thanks everyone! I’ll implement the changes on various pages now. D🐶ggy54321 (let's chat!) 21:41, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Okay but on Instagram the aforementioned photo has the number 16, not 13? Ernis32 (talk) 18:40, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
