proposed for deletion[edit]

I know Gator Falls well - my daughter insists on riding it every time we're at Lowry Park Zoo. However, there's absolutely nothing special about it. While I'm in favor of saving as many articles as possible, this one just doesn't qualify as notable any more than any of the other standard-issue rides at the zoo. Flying banana ride entry, anyone? • Your personal feelings about the ride aren't the issue. The article has a news cite from the Tampa Tribune and so I've removed the prod, in favour of letting the AfD decide it. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 00:20, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Huh? I said that I've actually ridden it - no "personal feelings" involved. The ride should be mentioned in the Lowry Park Zoo article, but, as someone who's actually seen it and its lack of media coverage, I don't think it's notable and/or exceptional enough for a separate article. • Well, in any case, please wait for the AfD discussion to resolve. You should not remove AfD tags, even if the discussion seems to be evolving slowly. If necessary, it will be relisted. Shawn in Montreal (talk) 03:03, 30 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
      • This is why I switched this article over to wp:prod last month, removing the AfD banner which I had placed there myself. It's not a particularly important issue, of course, but nothing's happened in a long while even though a consensus for deletion (such as it is) seems to be clear.
