Chart showing the development of the Gearing class[edit]

The "Chart showing the development of the Gearing class" is helpful but contains an error. The number of vessels completed and commissioned (i.e. the shown number in the top-center and bottom boxes in the chart) should read 98 instead of 105. The number 98 is consistent both with the breakdown of this total through the rest of the chart and with the number shown in the main article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:8000:CE41:5000:24A3:7870:3088:6488 (talk) 06:15, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Longevity - last retired.[edit]

OK - if you look 14 were still in service in Jan-1981, plus another 13 in service as of Jan-1979, most of those were Naval Reserve Ships - and had their "life" mandated by congress at that time. AS stated "They were replaced as ASW ships by the Spruance-class destroyers, which were commissioned 1975–1983" 01:25, 29 December 2023 (UTC). Wfoj3 (talk) 01:25, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
