Health Issues?

[edit]

For the past few weeks, Gene's spot has been filled by Christine Craft. Does anyone know why this is? 99.108.140.97 (talk) 20:08, 24 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, health issues:

On his current employer KKSF's site below there's a message from Gene Burns stating he's recovering from a stroke. It says it "affected the speech center of my brain in the form of Aphasia" and there's no specific date when he'll return to the air. I wish Gene a speedy recovery. If there's benefit in this, some of the better former KGO Radio hosts like Gil Gross and John Rothmann have been hosting in Gene's time slot. I'm thankful Clear Channel's AM 910 has allowed this and hired some of that stellar talent that was unceremoniously fired by Cumulus' KGO Radio. I'm now a steady listener of 910 KKSF (20 kW) where I can listen to Dr. Bill Wattenburg, Len Tillum, and others sacked by KGO (50 kW).
