[edit]

I intend to document Spencer Settles' career with the UCLA Bruins football team and subsequent draft into the NFL.

Best that you create an article with content and then post the whole thing all at onnce. Posting a little bit of info with no details of notability of the person, generally leads to the article getting deleted within a few minutes. --ArmadilloFromHell 03:11, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You might want to look at some other biographical articles for guidelines. People want to know up front what makes someone special. So, first paragraph is: "John Smith is a .... He is best known for ...." Then in the second paragraph start the background. If the first paragraph says he was born, and the second says he grew up, and people have to read down to the fifth paragraph to find out what the person is noted for, they'll give up. Citation style

[edit]

I've marked this article as needing an improved citation style as the current standard is to not use an informal, "part of the story" approach of "according to the Media Guide, Bill plays football", but a more formal "statement-citation" style of "Bill plays football.<ref>Media guide; ISBN 555-12345-6789-0</ref>, with as much identifiable info about the source as possible. As I don't have access to any of the sources listed, I'll leave it with the tag for now, but it should be changed sometime in the future. The-Pope (talk) 12:26, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
