New GM and Old GM[edit]

The General Motors article and this article need major rewriting. Once the rewriting takes place, this article should be named "General Motors Company" and the article about the old GM should adopt the name of the current name which is Motors Liquidation Company. 67.167.133.74 (talk) 15:03, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Or we could just merge the article into General Motors. there's really no good reason to have separate articles, as this "New GM" is the creation of a bankruptcy reorganization, which often times results in a similar creation, which the general public doesn't really pay much heed to.
It's the same thing we did with the Chrysler article, where it was decided by consensus that separate articles were unneeded, and they were quickly merged. The rationale there was historical precedent, as reorganizations of these types were once common, especially in the history of railroads, and per WP:COMMONNAME, as most writings have already begun to simply refer to the reorganized Chrysler and GM as simply Chrysler and GM. oknazevad (talk) 16:59, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
'Merge Let's just merge it with the General Motors article. They contain the same information. There is also the History of General Motors and the General Motors Chapter 11 reorganization article. The common name General Motors should be used. This article is not needed. Let's just delete it. Thomas Paine1776 (talk) 17:36, 10 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
