Sources Cited

[edit]

Ok, I've used Magnus' citation generator http://tools.wikimedia.de/~magnus/makeref.php to generate citations to reference pages on BGEA which substantiate the entire article. Is that a substantial enough citation to justify removing the "unreferenced" tag? Alan 01:32, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:GeorgeBeverlyShea.jpg

[edit]

Image:GeorgeBeverlyShea.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Nationality?

[edit]

Sorry to be super pedantic (but this is an encyclopedia...): The infobox lists his nationality as American. The first line of the introduction says he is a "Canadian centenarian". It is of course perfectly possible that both are true, but it looks confusing. One assumes he was born a Canadian citizen, but one would also assume that given that he has lived and worked in the USA since the 1930s, the likelihood is that he has gained US citizenship. Is he a Dual Citizen? (Under US law for the majority of the 20th C, he'd have had to abandon Canadian Citizenship to gain US, I believe). Is he a "Canadian-American"? Is he a "Canadian-born centenarian"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.66.135.161 (talk) 22:36, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article now states he became an American citizen in 1941. I added an additional source. As I understand it his nationality would have been American from then on. He would have still been a Canadian-born centenarian.Tomsv 98 (talk) 18:41, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Discography

[edit]

Shouldn't there be a discography for him?184.147.230.79 (talk) 05:57, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think there should be. I've never done one from scratch, but I will try it.Tomsv 98 (talk) 16:36, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Shea is referred to in the present tense more than once

[edit]

He is dead and the BG Crusades have ended. Shea, along with Graham, Barrows, Grady Wilson and George Wilson, is one of the five directors of the BGEA. Shea is often called "America's beloved Gospel singer." Since the beginning of Graham's crusade ministry Shea and Cliff Barrows have been the nucleus of the crusade musical team. Barrows is choir director 2600:1700:B9C1:20C0:74F0:B156:7BF2:9F8C (talk) 16:59, 5 May 2024 (UTC)David[reply]
