Attributions[edit]

I've removed a few of the buildings mentioned in the article.

St Botolph Aldersgate is certainly not by Dance, having been built in 1788, well after his death. St Luke, Old Street now seems pretty firmly attributed to James and Hawksmoor. St Botolph Bishopsgate is a more complex matter. The design is generally ascribed to one Joseph Gold or Gould. According to more some more recent books, Gold was Dance's father-in-law. I suppose its on this basis that some sources e,g. Jones and Woodward's "Guide to the Architecture of London" say it's a joint work by Gold and Dance. But the "Buildings of England" although mentioning their relationship attributes it to Gold alone, and I've followed that line and removed the mention of it from the article. The St Luke's hospital in Old Streeet was built in 1781 by Dance the Younger; its predecssor was in Moorfields, bit I can't find reference to an architect.
