Through the Suez Canal

I am removing the reference to HMS Newport being the first ship to pass through the canal. As discussed in the talk page of the canal this is a myth that is unsupported by any reports of the time or during Nares lifetime. I shall add a reference to his survey of the canal the following year Kognos (talk) 17:31, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
