Spelling

[edit]

I changed the spelling of "Neville" to "Nevill" at one point, as both were used, which is confusing. I realise that spelling was not necessarily consistent at that time, but within an article here it probably should be? Also, although i changed it by dropping the terminal "e", i think we should look at consistancy across articles; the name is spelled "Neville" almost everywhere else in Wikipedia, and this is the usual spelling. Is there a compelling reason to keep Lord Bergavenny sans "e"? Lindsay H. 09:21, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Portrait

[edit]

An editor with the IP address 74.99.88.54 changed the caption under the portrait today to read: 'This is Lord Thomas Cromwell (not George Nevill) by Hans Holbein the Younger'. No source is cited, so I'm changing the caption back to what it was, but leaving a note here in case someone comes up with a source which would justify the statement that the portrait is actually of Thomas Cromwell.
