George W. JonesGeorge Wallace Jones – or George W. Jones (Iowa politician). As noted in an ongoing RM at Talk:George Jones (U.S. senator), there are three articles on Wikipedia about people named "George W. Jones". The name "George Wallace Jones" is how the State Historical Society of Iowa referred to this man, and that name helpfully does not fit the description of George Washington Jones (Tennessee politician) and George Washington Jones (Texas politician). I am not sure whether "(Iowa politician)" is sufficient to cover his life, which included serving as a U.S. senator from Iowa and also as a U.S. representative from Wisconsin Territory and Michigan Territory (and an early life in Indiana, Missouri Territory, and Kentucky). Iowa was, at some point, part of Michigan Territory, Missouri Territory, and Wisconsin Territory, and he seems to have played a role in the creation of what is now Iowa, so it might suffice. —BarrelProof (talk) 16:42, 17 September 2018 (UTC) --Relisting.
