Comment on proposed deletion[edit]

This is my first time with the talk pages and dealing with a situation like this, so please bare with me. I respectfully object to the deletion of this article for the following reasons. The notability guidelines wp:prof include

  • The person has received a highly prestigious academic award or honor at a national or international level.
  • The person's academic work has made a significant impact in the area of higher education, affecting a substantial number of academic institutions.

Gerceida Adams-Jones has done both of these. The APS Fellows award is a prestigious academic award at the national and international level. "Each year, no more than one half of one percent of the Society’s membership"[1]

The award itself is for her impact in the area of higher education. The citation[2] for her award is “For publicly addressing inequities in science education in physics and astronomy through the development of curricular materials and community activities, particularly within inner-city communities.”

I will edit the page to add more references.
