Sinkings

[edit]

There seems to be some discrepancy in U-26es sinkings, the sources don't agree, in some cases they're nowhere near, both in tonnage and numbers of ships sunk. e.g.
U-Boat.net: 48,645 GRT
U-bootwaffe.net:36,101 (only arrived-at by adding individual ship displacements); a total of 14 ships
U-bootarchiv.de: 39,854 GRT
Article: 48,645 GRT; eleven ships, but 'U-Boat.net' also gives 14.

Error

[edit]

The last U-26 commander was Heinz Scheringer, an argentine officer born in Buenos Aires on August 29, 1907. Heinz Fischer was in charge of the submarine in a short period of time, surely on Scheringer's license, between May 12 and June 8, 1940, a 13-day patrol. Sheringer commanded the ship until July 1, 1940 when it was sunk and captured. https://uboat.net/men/commanders/1078.html https://uboat.net/men/commanders/288.html — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:B07:A15:6F00:6C39:1D3F:E82B:E0A2 (talk) 14:38, 24 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
