Merrick's statistics[edit]

I'd like to know where the statistics come from? On the official website of Birmingham City Football Club we can read that Merrick made 550 league appearances. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Theasix (talk • contribs) 12:18, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The figure of 551 is for all post-war competitive appearances, of which 485 were in the Football League. See BCFC records page here for the 551, and although that page doesn't mention Merrick's 485, it confirms Frank Womack as league appearance record-holder with 491.
