Italian or Croatian?[edit]

I could not find any decent English source stating he was Italian or Croatian. All of them say he was from Austria-Hungary. Silvio1973 (talk) 10:15, 24 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

His ancestry is mixed, and the Italian family lived in Croatian territory for centuries. In Croatia he's more mentioned as a Croatian ie. Croatian citizen than actual ethnic Croat. Neverthless that national Croatian Encyclopedia denotes him as Croatian inventor, think Croatian in his case belongs to the same case of Slavoljub Eduard Penkala, whose known as Croatian inventor of Dutch-Polish-Jewish descent. The same way we could describe him as Croatian or Austrian-Hungarian officier or inventor of Italian-Croatian descent. However, the current state is more than fine, and even if we find how he declared in official documents, wouldn't change the current neutrality (which is also found in Croatian and Serbo-Croatian Wikipedia).--Crovata (talk) 12:46, 24 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
