Cleanup

[edit]

I'm doing some cleanup work per Wikipedia:Disambiguation, which says "Lists of articles of which the disambiguated term forms only a part of the article title don't belong here. Disambiguation pages are not search indices. Do not add links that merely contain part of the page title (where there is no significant risk of confusion)."

This disambiguation page lists many people that are likely not just known by their forenames, so I'd like to get rid of most of them on this page. Unfortunately, I don't know most of them, and some of them may in fact be known by just their forenames. If that's the case for a person listed below, please cut-paste them back onto the disambiguation page.

The articles on What links here only mentions pornography, so I guess Giselle Yum is the only person likely at this moment to accidently be referred to on this disambiguation page, so I'm leaving her in. – sgeureka tc 21:01, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the explanation. It helps alot. I didn't know about that policy until now. - Mtmelendez (TALK|UB|HOME) 12:29, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have cleaned up other disambiguation pages in the meantime where the differentiation for the names is not as clear or even not encouraged (e.g. Frost (disambiguation) and Camille). MoS:DAB#Examples of individual entries that should not be created allows the creation of pages à la Giselle (given name) or List of people named Giselle, so if someone sees the need for such a page, please do so and add the new page's name to the "See also" section here. – sgeureka tc 16:45, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Done. I created a new article to list the given names. I hope that adheres more to policy. Thanks for your help. I'll try and help out in cleaning up similar disambig pages. - Mtmelendez (TALK|UB|HOME) 21:29, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
