Surprise verdict?

[edit]

The Calvi article simply says "The verdict was a surprise to some observers." That seems sufficiently plausible and uncontroversial to require no citation. But to omit the 'some observers' qualifier would seem to require a reliable source. The cited BBC sources makes no mention of surprise, and I can't check the cited Times source as I'm not prepared to pay Rupert Murdoch for the privilege of trying to verify Wikipedia citations. So I'm now going to put "citation needed" beside 'surprise' in the two places where it currently occurs in the hope that somebody can find a more satisfactory citation, or can add the actual words used about it being a surprise as a quote in the Times citation, or can fix it in some other way.
