Untitled

"America based painter Patrick McCay is a graduate of this department and is the current Dean of Academics at the New Hampshire Institute of Art."- I removed this from the Campus section as it was not relevant. If someone wishes to add it into an Alumni section then they can do so.(Richarddworkinisgod 13:00, 18 September 2007 (UTC))

"David Shrigley, Douglas Gordon and Sandy Smith are some of the contemporary artists to have graduated from that department." - removed this as well. An Alumni section is needed. (Richarddworkinisgod 15:14, 18 September 2007 (UTC))

Assessment exercise

The School participated in UK-wide Research Assessment Exercise: submission can be found at http://submissions.rae.ac.uk/submissions/submission.aspx?id=63&type=uoa&subid=2535

The move to Sky Park

I've started an edit indicating the move of the Design school and WTMS down to Sky Park under the Campus section, but some points need updating in other sections. Possibly the plans and maybe even the renders on the Schools Flickr account of the new building should be added somewhere.

I'm not sure of details, or where image copyrights and lefts lies, so I'll leave that for someone else.

The Mackintosh Building

Surely architecturally and historically notable enough in its own right to deserve a separate article, if not a substantial section of this article? 93.96.199.67 (talk) 20:36, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

Agreed. Andy Dingley (talk) 10:54, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

Did the Glasgow-born Christopher Dresser study here from age 13 (late 1840s, so still the Glasgow Government School of Design) or did he travel to London to study at the Government School of Design there? Andy Dingley (talk) 10:54, 16 July 2015 (UTC)

Assessment comment

The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Glasgow School of Art/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

I was wondering if there should be one article on the Mackintosh building itself, and another on the institution. There is a lot of information on the building and its history that could be added (dates, funders, things of note about the design and construction), but I'm not sure that would sit well in this article which seems to concentrate mostly on the student and staff bodies. Could/should there be "the glasgow school of art - institution' and 'the glasgow school of art - buildings' articles?
