• Curious why the entry on Frey didn't mention his single "Part of Me, Part of You" from the Thelma and Louise soundtrack? I could be wrong, but I think it was a modest hit for him...

HOTEL CALIFORNIA

I read some time ago an anlysis of the words to Hotel California. That they were Frey's disgust with the drug trade particularly in the music business and that it was basically a protest song. Is this correct and if so where can I read it again? 198.54.202.250 13:46, 7 May 2007 (UTC)

I believe that the montage of the Eagles from their Long Road Out of Eden Tour should be featured on the article. It is featured on the article for the Eagles, the Eagles discography, Timothy B. Bob Seger connection

Glenn Frey#Early life states "His first professional recording experience was performing acoustic guitar and background vocals on Bob Seger's Ramblin' Gamblin' Man in 1968." The italics would lead me to believe that he performed on multiple tracks of the album. However, Ramblin' Gamblin' Man#Personnel credits Frey for backing vocals and acoustic guitar on "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man", and the quotation marks would lead me to believe it's only for the title track. Can anyone shed some light on this apparent discrepancy? Thanks! GoingBatty (talk) 03:15, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

I see nothing on Allmusic under Frey's career credits for "Vocals (background)" for the Seger album.[1] There is also no mention of Frey in the album's credits[2] or the album overview (one would think that the reviewer would have mentioned Frey's participation)[3]. It's unreferenced, and without something to support it, it should be removed. Doc talk 03:22, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

Well, there is this from Rolling Stone.[4] Odd that Allmusic (which we use as a reliable source all the time) doesn't have this in there. I also found it here, from an interview with Frey.[5] In any case, it seems that he would have only played on the one song. I'll cite it shortly. Doc talk 03:38, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for adding the Rolling Stone ref, and with the second interview ref we can probably get another good sentence or two out of the paragraph with more detail on his relationship with Seger.
