I'll take this one on tonight. Courcelles (talk) 01:34, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, much appreciated, Courcelles!--Farang Rak Tham (Talk) 07:34, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Is a Ph.D. thesis really the best source to be citing? Especially for claims about the channel's "quality programming"? IIRC, thesises are generally avoided as RS.
  • Checked all content that is supported by this source, and rephrased sentence you mentioned in a less peacocky and more specific way. There is no better source, but the PhD thesis/dissertation is from a leading university in Asian Studies (SOAS of the University of London). You are right of course that a PhD thesis has less credence than a peer-reviewed scientific article, but I am not aware of any policy against it. I believe that avoidance only holds for Master theses.--Farang Rak Tham (Talk) 07:34, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • minus Removed the sentence about quality programming now.--Farang Rak Tham (Talk) 10:41, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Dissolved 26 December 2016" in the infobox. The lead makes it sound like a going concern...
  •  Fixed. DMC was dissolved, GBN survived but it was renamed as GBN. I have removed two parameters from the infobox, which only led to confusion.--Farang Rak Tham (Talk) 10:41, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • "In 2016, the satellite channel could be received in all continents in the world, except for South-America." Two points. 1) Antarctica too?

2) No hyphen in South America

  •  Fixed.
  • This needs a copyedit, pretty badly. Parts of it, especially the Steve Jobs section, are hard to read, in other parts it doesn't seem to have clarity between the network's former operations and the current Internet ones. It feels like someone took an article about a defunct channel and just stuck on a little about a new one.
  •  Doing...
  • I have now rephrased and copy-edited considerably. Please provide me with some more details to give me some guidance. Thanks.--Farang Rak Tham (Talk) 08:00, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Link baht, and convert it into USD or EUR.
  •  Partly fixed. I linked it. Conversion would quickly become outdated, not sure how this should be properly done.--Farang Rak Tham (Talk) 07:34, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Fixed. Discovered the way to do this at MOS:CURRENCY, and made appropriate changes.

On hold for a week. Courcelles (talk) 01:57, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Great, I’ll take another read when I get home. Courcelles (talk) 15:36, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • "The channel was founded to provide an alternative to the many distractions that surround people in modern life, which lure "people into doing immoral things", as stated by Phra Somsak Piyasilo, spokesperson of the organization." We're going to need a citation directly after this quote.
  •  Done.
  • "The channel is managed by Phra Maha Nopon Puññajayo, who supervises a team of thirty volunteers." Still current?
  • I have no recent sources on this, but there has been no news that the organization behind it was disbanded or something like that.--Farang Rak Tham (Talk) 08:12, 30 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • You need to tag which sources are originally in Thai.
  •  Done.
  • "In 2016, the satellite channel could be received in all continents in the world, except for South America" Still implies it could be received in Antarctica.
  •  Fixed.
  • "In 2012, the temple broadcast a talk of Luang Por Dhammajayo," By, not of.
  •  Fixed.
  • "an investigation of the police" The police conducted the investigation, or the police WERE investigated? Right now, the sentence means the latter, I suspect you intend the former.
  •  Fixed.
  • All See Also links must be to other Wikipedia pages, not to pages on other wikis. If it is really important, stick in an External links section.
  •  Done.

That's what I see left. Courcelles (talk) 16:34, 29 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the useful comments, Courcelles.--Farang Rak Tham (Talk) 08:12, 30 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Maybe about the junta shutting down the satellite network would work? I'm somewhat lousy at hook writing, I'll freely admit! Courcelles (talk) 19:35, 30 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
