Strange definition[edit]
It seems strange to me to define a concept ("global field") as meaning one of two distinct cases.
Is there not a single, consistent definition of "global field" that could then be used to prove that the only cases that arise are the two cases mentioned (either a) a finite extension of the rational field, or b) the function field of an algebraic curve over a finite field)??? 2601:200:C000:1A0:7432:BF61:D0FA:27A0 (talk) 15:27, 17 October 2022 (UTC)
