Overview

It works fine for me... Adabow (talk) 00:02, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Prose and suggestions

[edit]
Lead
  • The track was written by Lorde and Joel Little and produced by Little → The track was written by Lorde and its producer Joel Little

  • Write a full sentence on the critical commentary it received and why it was mixed (this will be easier with the reviews I linked below).
I am having difficulty with this, as there is no clear divide amongst critics; both writing and production received positive and negative responses. Do you have a suggested structure? Otherwise, I feel that the general "mixed" sentence is an OK summary, and readers can continue to the reception section to encounter details. Adabow (talk) 00:29, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • An artist's primary market is presumably their own country; with that being said, Lorde's primary market is New Zealand and the Artists Singles charts should be mentioned. A Hot Rock Songs mention is welcome as well.
I have included it in the reception section, but I don't think it's that important to include in the lead; of the top twenty NZ songs that week, only six entered the main singles chart. Extrapolating that, if an extended main singles chart were published, "G&G" would probably be below number 100. Adabow (talk) 00:29, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Background and release
  • "Album adult alternative" — add the Triple A designation and/or "radio stations" next to it
Done. Adabow (talk) 00:29, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Composition
  • What's Lorde's vocal range for this song?
Added. Adabow (talk) 00:29, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • The Fly reference needs archiving (it's dead)
Thanks. Done. Adabow (talk) 00:29, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Reception
  1. The Reception section seems limited in coverage. Here are some reviews from WP:RS's of the album that at least mention composition information for "Glory and Gore" or critical commentary: PolicyMic (link; The 405 (link; it can be used as its reviews are selected for Metacritic); Notion (link); musicOMH (link); San Francisco Chronicle (link) and Paste (link). After doing this, move this paragraph in order to begin the section (in line with other GAs).
I have now used PolicyMic, Planet Notion, The 405 and musicOMH. The SF Chronicle mentions a live performance in passing, and Paste talks about an aspect of the song's theme which is already backed up by two references. Adabow (talk) 00:02, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Live performances
  1. I retrieved other sources for this section: for a Dallas performance on The Dallas Morning News (link) and The Guardian (link)

References

[edit]
  • Idolator is owned by Spin Media, that should be included in the publisher parameter of its reference.
Added. Adabow (talk) 00:29, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Billboard references are inconsistent, as some mention the location and others do not.
Fixed. Those without locations omit them because so do the source articles. Adabow (talk) 00:29, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
