I have a distant memory (I'm not a Londoner) of an automated Tube announcement - possibly a female one - saying "Glozeder Road". I've heard others say the perfectly ordinary "Glosster" since. Am I imagining that other pronunciation? 87.113.29.245 15:19, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Quite possibly. There are several tube pronunciations in dispute, such as Marry-le-bone / Marr-le-bone and Saint James Park / Saint James-es Park, which is disputed in both spelling and pronunciation.

My query is why this station is no longer represented as a junction on the tube map. Although it is quite clearly a junction - the Piccadilly line's route is quite separate from the Circle/District one, and has a completely separate pair of platforms, tube rather than sub-surface - recent tube maps have taken to representing it as a non-junction. I see no sense in this. BartBassist (talk) 22:39, 1 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The white circles don't mean "junction", they mean "recommended interchange". It's not shown as an interchange because due to the distance between the platforms, there's no journey for which it's the most convenient interchange, and it gets very crowded so LT want to discourage people from changing there. This is standard LT practice when they want to discourage people from using a station as an interchange; see the Bakerloo north of Queen's Park or the Piccadilly west of Rayners Lane, where they're trying to encourage people not to change until they get to more frequently served stations, or the fact that Rickmansworth isn't marked as a BR interchange despite being served by BR trains. – iridescent 10:07, 16 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
