Headline text[edit]

I've changed ever so slightly the Michael Owen description of the goal, it said he beat Three defenders when he actusllyt beat only two

Actually i've done a whole lot of tidying up. Some of the goal descriptions are either inaccurate or just not very good. Also in the opening paragraph it says Maradona beat Hoddle, Hoddle was nowhere in sight, he also didn't beat Sansom. And the part about Lionel Messi's goal is totally irrelevant, a great goal granted but still irrelevant.

I've got to wonder how a goal scored against such a lame bunch of defenders can be the best of all time? I mean Butcher, Fenwick and Reid? They are donkeys with lead weights on their feet. Maradona scored many better goals against real quality defences in Italy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.18.66.121 (talk) 22:10, 19 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hoddle[edit]

I've noticed someone put Hoddle back in as one of the players Maradona beat. Please watch the clip then you'll notice the numbers on the shirts of the players he beats are 20(Beardsley) 16(Reid) 6(Butcher) and then the last player Fenwick whose number you cannot see. Hoddle wore number 4 and that is nowhere in sight. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.8.9.240 (talk) 18:05, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Check the video. At the beginning of the acction, both Beardsley and Reid come from Maradona's left; Hoddle is on the right and is quicly oversped by Maradona when he insinuates an attempt of stealing the ball (you won't be seen his number either). Mariano(t/c) 10:58, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I thought you may have included that player. Problem is that player is Steve Hodge not Glen Hoddle. Hoddle played right midfield and Hodge played left midfield which would make sense as to why he is there. Hoddle was over the other side of the pitch at that time. Also during this World Cup, Hoddle had much longer hair than the player in question. I think this should be changed to Hodge if thats OK with you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.8.9.240 (talk) 14:06, 15 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You seam to be better informed than me on this. Mariano(t/c) 12:15, 18 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
