Background[edit]

  • although he said West and his group 'were really cool' - You can cut this since his opinion on the group already comes across with the text before it.
  • whom he described as 'amazing artists' - I would cut the last quote since it isn't too relevant to this specific song. I try to watch using this kind of text too much since it can sound POV.
  • attributing this to West's great ear for talent in the variety of musicians and artists - I would the last quote here, too. I think the important point is delivered with the first part alone

Composition and lyrics[edit]

  • Musically, 'God Is' is a gospel song - per the Variety source you could add something like ", one of the more traditional on Jesus Is King".
  • West sings in a hoarse voice - it would be more accurate to the source to change this to "increasingly hoarse voice".
  • Otherwise very good!

Release and reception[edit]

  • I would add "(pictured)" after James Cleveland on the image caption
  • "Black-and-white" has a typo in the alt text
  • while also praising the cinematics - I would change this to "cinematic elements" since it might be sligthly unclear
  • Aidy James Stevens felt moved by the song from his position of atheism - I think changing to "despite his position of atheism" would better reflect what Stevens is trying to say

Charts[edit]

  • France peak is 137 according to the source
  • US Gospel Songs peak should be 4
  • Year-end charts should have subscription-only indication. I'll assume good faith since I can't check myself; do double-check they are correct, though

Lead and infobox[edit]

  • Add an audio module to the infobox like I did at the Waves article. I would recommend the YouTube upload
  • Rapper would feel more accurate than vocalist, but its vocalist on the GA Water (Kanye West song) so I'll leave it to you
  • "number six on both the Christian Songs and Gospel Songs charts" - Gospel peak was 4

Conclusion[edit]

This was a short review; the article is very good! I'm a fan of the composition and lyrics, its very concise which tends to be a fun bonus of smaller non-single songs like this. All issues should be relatively easy to fix. IanTEB (talk) 17:50, 16 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

IanTEB Thank you for this review, all has been completed now and I kept vocalist for consistency with the articles since this is a gospel album, not his traditional rap genre. --K. Peake 08:08, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I did a little copyedit but I'm happy to pass this! IanTEB (talk) 09:54, 17 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
