The 2017 proposal to merge this page with God Moves in Mysterious Ways seems reasonable as the poem seems to have been initially published as a hymn, and that may always have been the intention. The title and history are so intimately linked that it seems best to discuss them together. It is also better to merge the original first line of the poem and hymn, as the page focusses on the hymn/poem rather than the colloquial use of the shorter phrase.
