The Warehouse
[edit]I have some photos that i took during the building of the Warehouse in Shepherdsville, Ky Can they be used or would there be copyright issues with that? Can photos of the building be used or no? I could get a photo of the warehouse in Shepherdsville,KY now but not sure if it is a copyright issue.. My husband works in management at this particular DC. --Ltshears (talk) 19:15, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
I don't think that putting pictures up that you have are in violation of copyright standards. I was actually thinking of posting some of the Springfield DC, as that is where I work. We couldn't put up anything that shows the system or how things operate though.

Please change the article main image to reflect the new logo and also a distribution center, source: http://www.mlive.com/business/west-michigan/index.ssf/2016/01/gordon_food_service_expands_in.html

Please change "Gordon Food Service is the largest privately held foodservice distributor in North America" to "North America's largest privately-held, family-managed broadline food service distributor", source: http://www.wbtv.com/story/30942455/ribbon-cutting-for-gordon-foods-more-than-200-jobs-for-kannapolis
- Not done, "family-managed" is a term used by press releases but not by Wikipedia articles, see the Manual of Style. Altamel (talk) 19:27, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
Please change "Gordon Food Service has Gordon Food Service Stores in the states of Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky,Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Tennessee. Gordon Food Service also distributes to portions of Wisconsin, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia" to include Wisconsin and Missouri. Additionally, the following verbiage can be used: "Gordon Food Service also operates more than 170 Gordon Food Service Store® locations in the U.S." Source: https://www.gfs.com/en/about-us/news-and-store-events/gordon-food-service-announces-the-2015-north-american-vendor-involvement-process-supplier-award
- Not done, I don't understand this request. Wisconsin and Missouri are already mentioned. The 170 stores are already mentioned under the "Stores" section as well. Altamel (talk) 19:27, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
Please change "Gordon Food Service also distributes to portions of Wisconsin, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia." to "Today, Gordon Food Service serves foodservice operators in the Midwest, Northeast, Southeast, and Southwest regions of the United States and coast-to-coast in Canada. U.S. facilities are located in Grand Rapids (2) and Brighton (2), Michigan; Kenosha, Wisconsin; Springfield, Ohio; Imperial and Pottsville, Pennsylvania; Taunton, Massachusetts; Aberdeen, Maryland; Shepherdsville, Kentucky; Douglasville, Georgia; Kannapolis, North Carolina; Houston and Coppell, Texas; and Miami and Plant City, Florida. There are eight distribution centers in Canada." Source: https://www.gfs.com/en/about-us/news-and-store-events/gordon-food-service-announces-the-2015-north-american-vendor-involvement-process-supplier-award
- Not done, the wording too closely parallels the text in another company press release, [1]. Internal Wikipedia policy on using copyrighted text is even stricter than policy on using copyrighted images, as copyrighted text can and should always be rewritten in the editor's own words (with the exception of quotes).
Please change "In 2009 Gordon Food Service opened a new distribution center in Pottsville, PA adding to the extensive distribution web that it already has, and is also planning on opening another new warehouse in Kenosha, WI in April 2010." to "In 2016 Gordon Food Service opened a new distribution center in Kannapolis, NC." Source: https://www.gfs.com/en/about-us/news-and-store-events/gordon-food-service-opens-new-distribution-center-in-kannapolis-north-carolina
- Done, I paraphrased this sentence for you. Altamel (talk) 19:27, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
Please change "warehouses in seven states" to "warehouses in twelve states", source: https://www.gfs.com/en/food-service-distribution/service-areas
Please change the truck image under the Technology section to the updated branding found on this article (source): http://www.bizjournals.com/tampabay/news/2015/12/21/food-service-company-to-add-100-jobs-in-plant-city.html
- Not done, same issue with image copyright. Altamel (talk) 19:27, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
One additional request would be include that "Gordon Food Service is ranked by Forbes as the 26th largest private company and is the 4th largest food distribution company in the U.S.", source: http://www.forbes.com/companies/gordon-food-service/

[edit]The article is quite out of date. I updated it as a draft atDraft:Gordon Food Service. Can we implement any of my content? KatyleedyGFS (talk) 11:27, 4 October 2019 (UTC)KatyleedyGFS
Store location
[edit]Why does the first paragraph say it operates in Michigan.. then also Michigan?
The "Store Location" section also fails to mention a few of the states it lists at the beginning. 2601:40C:8203:13D0:3450:2E79:4EE0:B6E3 (talk) 23:00, 10 June 2022 (UTC)
