I'll take a look at this shortly. Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 00:22, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Prelim[edit]

  • Cockpit is a duplicated link
  • Article is stable
  • Images correctly licensed
  • Earwig reports copyvio unlikely

Lede and infobox[edit]

  • "only sinking"
  • "Fewer than half survived the war to be inventoried by the Allies after the war."

Background and description[edit]

  • Suggest linking the Action of 22 September 1914
  • "but only the forward observer could flown if a torpedo was carried" something missing here
  • A word or two on the configuration of the cockpits would be useful - you mention the forward observer cockpit but we aren't provided with the positions of the other to compare it with (it isn't clear from the images)

Operational history[edit]

  • "The mission was generally unsuccessful" not sure why "generally" is required here? Were any bombs dropped?
  • Was Saint-Pol-sur-Mer a military airfield? Probably worth noting
  • "the following evening" suggest adding the date here because it's been a while since the last was provided
  • "surprised two cargo ships" to avoid too many pairs
  • "caused one of the aircraft"
  • Link Operation Albion
  • Do we know exactly how the rescuing floatplane and crew were lost? Sounds like an interesting episode
    • I was confusing two separate incidents on that same day.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 19:49, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Did the commander die in a WD.11 related accident?
  • "action on 4 October later when two small minelayers"
  • Link Gotha WD.14
  • "The weather was generally not suitable"
  • Do we know whether the Dutch WD.11 was the rescue plane or the original craft that made the emergency landing? Might be worth mentioning that saga in a little more detail again here for context

References[edit]

  • "In service the German pilots found the WD.11 too fragile for the heavy weights that it needed to carry, specially while taking off or landing." needs a citation
  • The Operators section really needs a citation for the sake of completion
  • References look OK. AGF for print sources.

@Sturmvogel 66: Hi, an interesting article! That's all I have for now. Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 12:08, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I think that I've addressed all of these; see if my changes are satisfactory.--Sturmvogel 66 (talk) 19:52, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Passing this article as satisfying the GA criteria. Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 15:03, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
